Flight Log - 2015-05-30 - Steve Lindeman's Goonydent

Built from plans by Excelsiorrocketry.com useing 2 Baby Bertha kits, 3 18" BT-5 tubes and 6 BNC-5 cones plus one extra BNC-60 cone to be used on the lower section to protect against ejection gases. Total investment: approx. $45.00 making it a very expensive kit bash but worth it for the looks I get at the field. Always a head turner.

Flight Date: 2015-05-30
Rocket Name: Goonydent
Kit Name: Estes - Trident {Kit} (K-33) [?-?]
Flyer's Name: Steve Lindeman
Motors: D12-5
Wind Speed: 5.00 mph
Launch Site: JMRC-M.I.S.

Finally able to fly this on the mighty D motor. Rocket left pad with authority and climbed nice and high. Parachute deployed after apogee and rocket started to descend but caught some thermals part way down and seemed to hang on decent.  Lots of drift in spite of 4" spill hole in parachute. Minor damage to one of the NC-20 cones on the rear of rocket from ground impact. Overall, a beautiful flight.
