Flight Log - 2011-03-26 - Joseph Olexa's Launch Pad Bolo

This is a four balsa fin plastic nose cone scale like rocket.  It uses a one piece BT60 body tube, a D motor mount and a plastic nosecone.  The kit also came with clay to add to the plastic nosecone and a mylar parachute and swivels for the shock cord and parachute shroud lines.  No decals are provided, you must paint the red stripes yourself.  Recommended motors are D12-3, D12-5, Aerotech E15-7, E30-7, RMS E18-7 and RMS F24-7.  It uses a 3/16 inch launch lug.

Kit Name: The Launch Pad - BOLO {Kit}
Flyer's Name: Joseph Olexa
Motors: D12-5
Wind Speed: 12.00 mph
Launch Site: SARA

Good straight flight with parachute ejection and soft landing.  I used a 23 inch nylon parachute but it appears to be too big since I had to walk a distance to pick it up.  I modified the rocket by adding an ejection baffle and gluing the motor mount tube flush with the end of the body tube (it's supposed to be recessed into the body tube - I felt it was too far inside the tube) and adding a nylon parachute.
