Flight Log - 2014-06-21 - Richard Holmes's Bad Cholesterol

Dual egglofter. Built for an informal duration contest, not that the design or construction made any concessions to duration other than being wide enough for a big parachute; didn't matter, anyway, because the contest got rained out. 24mm motor mount. Finish is Rustoleum 2X gloss white and black.

Flight Date: 2014-06-21
Rocket Name: Bad Cholesterol
Flyer's Name: Richard Holmes
Motors: D10-5
Launch Site: Syracuse Rocket Club (Weigand's Field)

The Bad Cholesterol went to the pad with an Aerotech single use D10-5W. It spat the igniter. I took it off the pad, reamed out a slightly constricted nozzle, and tried again. Success. With its BT-60 airframe and 24″ Mylar chute it was soon eliminated as a contender by a BT-50 (or maybe 55) packing a 36″ chute. But it was a contest entry, and its inaugural flight went well, with the rocket and eggs all returning undamaged, and that was all I was really trying for.
