"This was my first rocket, and boy it was a great choice, too bad to think it is discontinued. :( Construction is simple, and the rocket is really beautiful and tall after it is finished. Flights were pretty impressive, I had 2 B6-4 launches, 3 C6-7 launches, and 3 C6-5 launches. On the B's this rocket barely lifts off the pad, but C's give it a respectable altitude for it's considerate size, and is extremely stable going up. Let me say DO NOT USE C6-7s LIKE I DID!!! The rocket was about 50 or less feet when I used this motor. C6-5 ejects just below apogee, but because the rocket is still sideways, it makes for a neat "explosion" effect because it comes down in two pieces. If you can find C6-3s I am sure this rocket will be perfect." (J.H.)

"My first ever rocket. Fun to build. Plastic fins and the whole mounting part was easy. The helicopter nosecone is a lot of fun." (O.A.)

"This is my first experience with rockets and let me tell you I should have started 20 years ago. The Helicat was an easy kit to assemble and I opted not to use the helicopter blades(weight reduction). First flight was with B6-4 perfect flight, 300'aprox height and landed 10 steps from pad. The next 2 were with C6-3 and C6-5 aprox 600' same landing results. Flight 4 however I used another B6-4 and the elastic ‘chute cord burned up, no major damage to anything. I would suggest using a stronger chute cord. Can’t wait until next weekend." (D.W.)

"A very stable rocket. It was my first. Construction took about 1 hour. Very Simple. If your nose cone gets lost, just tie the parachute to a new nose cone, make the shock cord longer and then tie that on, too. I recommend you don't use a C6-5 on it because ejection is too late. One of my favorites, but one day it landed in someone's pool. That was the end of that." (B.L.)

"A very colorful and durable rocket. It was very simple and quick to build. The first two launches went off without a hitch, with both parts coming down for a soft landing. But it's final demise was on a calm day, it launched perfectly, then at apogee the nose cone came out and the parachute on their own leaving the main tube to plummet to the ground and the parachute and nose cone to be attacked by the trees. A good rocket to start off in rocketry. I give it 9/10." (L.P.B.)

"After flying this rocket on the 6th occasion, I found the engine mount end cap became looser and looser with each flight. The traditional metal spring clip which Estes use with their other kits would have been a better system. On the 6th flight the endcap fell off when the rocket landed on harder ground. I persisted with the rocket for a 7th flight and i guess the problem got worse as the endcap may have come off in flight possibly causing the ejection charge not to work properly as it had no resistance. The recovery wadding stayed where it was and the rocket plummeted down from around 250 feet straight into the ground. The nose cone received a crack and the end of the tube nearest the nose became crumpled. The damage looks repairable but i've decided to retire it from flight. I would get another one though and either modify the system to the traditional type of engine mount or strengthen the existing one." (M.P.)

"This was my first rocket. I got it as a Christmas present. I found it very easy to build. It looked very impressive when completed. Unfortunately I let the itch to fly it get the best of me and I flew in less than perfect conditions. It was fairly windy when I launched. I had cut an approximately 1-1/2" hole at the top of the chute to help accelerate the descent (apparently it should have been a little larger.) Launch and chute deployment were perfect, however wind resulted in loss of both nose cone and rocket. Highly recommend kit but resist and fly on a calm day!" (M)
