This rocket is a very nice rocket. It specializes in it's recovery system. It comes down with 2 red and yellow metallic streamers. It is a medium sized rocket that's a little below 15". Another great feature about it is the variety of engines it takes. This rocket runs on engines from 1/2A's to C's. Assembly is not very hard at all because of the slotted body tube. Painting is also easy with a can of purple spray paint. With this rocket, you will easily attract a small group of people in no time. That's why I like to start off my launching with the Fire Streak. I recommend this rocket to anyone.

GUEST's OPINION:
09/01 - "My son's first balsa finned rocket. Building was a snap and the proportions of the rocket make it look sporty. It flies as good as it looks. Like an arrow off the pad with anything from an A-8 to C-6. Everyone loves the mylar streamers. This is a rocket you will fly many times. Ours has made at least a dozen flights with minimal damage. Unfortunately Estes has discontinued production of this kit so grab them when you see them." (T.J.C.)

GUEST's OPINION:
04/01 - "I really like this rocket. I think it makes good use of all motors from an A-83 to the C6-7. It gives a great flight on the A8-3 and goes completely out of sight on a C6-7. A while ago my brother friend and I drag raced our Firestreaks on C6-7s and witnessed an amazing show. I was also well impressed with the durability as well as the looks. I recently finished building a scratch Firestreak that I made out of BT-80 body tube which is about 30 inches tall and is awesome looking with the chrome paint I finished it with. I would also like to inform you that if you have a black-light, the decals are awesome when exposed to it." (D.C.)

GUEST's OPINION:
03/01 - "This rocket gets an A+ for durability. I found this out one evening when I launched it on its third flight with a B6-4 motor. It went straight up to about 600 feet but the moderate wind made it drift the width of the football field that I launched it from and it landed hard on the concrete track surrounding the field. The only damage was a fin that popped out of the body tube slot with the mounting tab still attached and some scraped paint (but who cares). Some white glue and a little paint fixed the damage in minutes. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a great flying model." (D.B.Jr.)

GUEST's OPINION:
09/00 - "I built this beauty but instead of painting it purple, I used a glossy red. This rocket performs very well. It went a lot higher than I thought it would and it has a beautiful recovery." (T.W.)

GUEST's OPINION:
04/00 - "The orange and yellow flame decals over deep purple body look mighty fine! This one flies very well and the streamers keep drifting down to a minimum. Rolling and re-packing the two streamers on a windy day is quite a challenge though... This is a nice, easy kit and a solid flier." (D.M.)

GUEST's OPINION:
03/00 - "My first Firestreak was the stock design. I built another using a D motor mount for D-12s and fly it with an Estes sounding locator. This thing really checks out! The streamers are great, especially with a low sun angle, but they tend to shred up quickly." (S.J.)

07-17-2000 Donald Besaw Est SU B6-4 Didn't See 0-5 mph winds - Landed hard on a high school concrete track resulting in a popped and dented fin and some scraped paint. Easily fixed. Flew again.
03-24-2001 Donald Besaw Est SU C6-7 Apogee - NC Down
(1000 ft)
0-5 mph winds - First time I ever punched a rocket up to about 1000 feet. Perfect streamer recovery.
02-27-2002 Donald Besaw Est SU A8-3 Just Past (1-2sec) 5-10 mph winds - Great flight even though it was cold. No damage.
08-08-2002 Donald Besaw Est SU B4-4 Just Past (1-2sec) 0-5 mph winds - Wind test. Landed in some standing water. Didn't see any signs of water damage.
04-06-2003 Donald Besaw Est SU B6-4 Apogee - NC Down 5-10 mph winds - Nice flight. Popped a fin loose on landing.
07-04-2001 Daniel Cutteridge Est SU C6-5 Apogee - NC Down Calm - I lve this rocket. Very high flighr and very durable to come down with streamers at 20 mph from about 1000 ft.
07-05-2001 Daniel Cutteridge Est SU C6-5 Didn't See 0-5 mph winds - Anoter nice flight. Wind spun rocket on rod right at liftoff and made it go a little squirely but straightend out. Recovered intact close to fence
07-05-2001 Daniel Cutteridge Est SU C6-5 Didn't See
(900 ft)
0-5 mph winds - Another nice flight. Still arced over. Went to about 900 feet. Came down in real thick weeds. Rocket recovered intact.
07-05-2001 Daniel Cutteridge Est SU C6-5 Just Past (1-2sec)
(900 ft)
0-5 mph winds - Flew nice. Arced a little bit because of previously made repair. Flew about 900 feet. I highly recommend this rocket.
07-05-2001 Daniel Cutteridge Est SU C6-7 Didn't See
(1000 ft)
0-5 mph winds - Used longer delay but pircture perfect flight. Tried to catch it but failed. Hard to catch a rocket descending from 1000 feet going 20 mph.
07-07-2001 Daniel Cutteridge Est SU C6-5 Very Late Calm - Great flight. Went about 900ft. went off pad very fast. Camed down in waist high weeds.
11-10-2001 David Logan Est SU B6-4 Apogee - Perfect 5-10 mph winds -
06-27-2004 David Logan Est SU B6-4 Apogee - Perfect 0-5 mph winds - Recovered 150 feet from pads using a 12 inch chute.
11-06-2004 T Muir Est SU A10-3 Apogee - Perfect 5-10 mph winds - Great set of recoveries on a windy day!

08-12-2000 Trevon Watson Est SU A8-3 Apogee - Perfect Calm - Notes:First flight! Went up higher than I thought on the A engine. Straight and true. Beautiful dual streamer recovery @ 10 from pad
08-12-2000 Trevon Watson Est SU B6-4 Apogee - Perfect Calm - Another beautiful flight, straight up and recovered 15 yds from pad. Again this rocket went a lot higher than I expected on a B engine.
08-13-2000 Trevon Watson Est SU A8-3 Apogee - Perfect Calm - Notes:First flight-Perfect flight. This rocket went alot higher than I thought it would on an A engine. Very impressive. Recovery is really spectacular. . . red and gold streamers crackling in the sunlight. Landed about 10 yds NW of launch pad.
08-13-2000 Trevon Watson Est SU B6-4 Apogee - Perfect Calm - Very nice flight. Again this rocket really performed well. It went much higher than I thought it would. Recovered about 15 yds W of pad.
08-13-2000 Trevon Watson Est SU C6-5 Didn't See Calm - Disastrous. . . Left the rod flying east at a low angle. Soared over my head and I lost it in the sun. Didn't even hear the ejection. Then my brother saw something. It was the nose cone and streamer assembly. Estes shock cord had separated from the rocket. We wer
