In the hey day of Barnstormers and Professional Adventurers, there were two bitter rivals for the title of the worlds most daring individual.

Rocket Pic

Of course the most well known of these two men is "The Great Leslie". Dressed all in his trade marked "Good Guy White", Leslie stands Truth, Justice, Mom, and Apple Pie.

Little is known about his antitheses, Professor Fate. Whenever "The Great Leslie" performed a feat of daring do, Professor Fate was always near, attempting to sabotage the event.

Afterwards the Professor would try to outdo what "The Great Leslie" had done.

Rocket PicUnfortunately, while his stunts were indeed breathtaking, they never quite worked out as they should.

For example: When Professor Fate was setting a new world speed record, his rocket powered sled became airbourne!

The story is from the movie "The Great Race". With Tony Curtis as "The Great Leslie", Jack Lemon as "Professor Fate" and Peter Falk as "Max" the evil henchman.

For my Descon entry I'm entering my version of Professor Fates land speeder. I did have to take a few liberties to get a model that would fly. I first had to remove the railroad undercarriage. Then I added the fins. The shape of the fins come from another of Professor Fates infernal devices. His sonic torpedo. I made the body longer, also to help the stability.

Lastly, I could only find one figure (Professor Fate) to ride the rocket. The Professors side kick Max couldn't be found.
