Capacitive Discharge

A type of launch controller which uses a large capacitor to store electrical energy from a battery. When commanded by the launch controller, the capacitor discharges a large current into the igniter. These controllers are often used with large cluster rockets to ensure that all of the motors ignite simultaneously.
